So I got a new blank fiberglass rear valance.
Cant decide how I want the exhaust yet. I'm thinking centered. maybe not. I need some pictures to help! Thanks! |

Take a look at RarlyL8's website. He's got pics of single out, dual out, and center outlet tip positions.

Thanks, that is a 78 930 that was special ordered new with them along with color to sample. Oh, I think Rarly8 knows this ( norwood) car. Hey Brian don't you think it looks better than the single out dump pipe? it really works better with two to get rid of the boost pressure until it needs it in the upper RPMs.

I never liked that square 90° single waste gate. Good job!

Duals in center would hands down be my choice.

Tony: How do you plan to integrate the rear valance [with those Euro-bumperetts]?

Rarly8 Thanks for your approval. Mooney 265. No rear valance as it gets rid of the heat better this way that this car can generate and I like to see the motor stuff hanging out for all to see. How about the Motec 48 under glass on the same car. Similar heat related issue and I like the ( futureama-ish ) brain under glass.

Yes, take a look at his site. He has the valance and lots of info about what works. Sorry I got a little off topic with a photo of exhaust without a valance. Just a option that might work if you want a different look to that area that takes it further away from stock.

Also I looked over the site and only came across one picture that was relevant to me. This is what I'm looking for. Pictures like this but with different exhaust tip locations. ![]() Through I think I may be sold on centered already without even seeing many pics. |

Tony, I like your exhaust. As a matter of fact, I just installed a Zork along with a 1-piece-full-across-fiberglass valance.
Also have the larger bumper-etts [which I prefer - - I know others prefer the smaller Euro ones]. I am very very happy with the Zork sound! And, I have a wide band installed and have not noticed any difference in the reading [not fluctuating] from when I had a muffler. However, I am not happy with the look, so I plan to tinker a bit with it: 1. Will raise the zork up to the height of your exhaust - - just below the license plate. I actually dragged it on Saturday night [and I don't drag on anything] when exiting a parking garage... 2. Will shorten the zork pipe to your length - - flush with license plate. This should also help with the possible "dragging." 3. Will cut a slight angle [maybe 15-degrees] on tip - - see picture. I like the look, and should also help with rear clearance when going straight down an incline. ![]() Now, as to how I make this work with the valance: 1. Will cut the fiberglass valance into 2 pieces [left and right] - - with 6" space in the middle for the new "raised and shortened" Zork. 2. Will use the existing heat shield for support on both left and right side. Will have to notch it a bit more in the center. This way, the bumper-etts will be flush up against something and not "dangling." I'll post some pictures when I'm done - - maybe in 2-weeks.

I modified a picture to show where I'm headed with this. Tony, I believe you could do the same if you have the stock heat shield... The valance could be supported with the stock metal heat shield...
This is the way my zork currently looks: ![]() Here is a rendition of what it would look like with the changes i mentioned above:

Looks like Brian has done it in one of his optional offerings. On mine i need the open air to get rid of the heat. If you notice the 935 cars were also open for the same reason. Get rid of the heat build up from the headers and turbos.

I love the look of a center mounted Zork. But i keep wondering how irritating the sound would be in a cabriolet, especially over a period of time on a longer drive.
