Just google turbocharger systems and there's a plethora of websites explaining. Our systems works like the majority of systems out there that you'll read about. Other part is CIS. There's tons of info right here. Lastly, buy Wayne's engine overhaul book (own) and Zimmerman's 101 projects (don't own but it's helped many here) and that should cover just about everything. |

As to your second question, when the boost threshold is lowered, the WUR simply gets the signal sooner, and will then enrich at that point (1000-1200 RPM lower in your example above). How much it enriches is dependent on full enrichment fuel control pressure (the higher pressure = less fuel reaching the mechanical injectors = leaner mixture . . . the control pressure works against the piston in the fuel head). There is a provision for this adjustment built into the Brian Leask modified WUR. I also want to mention that you really can't make any useful adjustments unless you have an AFR meter installed, as otherwise, it's pretty much just guess work and will be very frustrating. Oh, and the best way to accomplish adjustments is to get your hands on a Leask adjustable WUR and the instruction booklet that originally came with it. Obviously, that is difficult to do at the moment since he stopped making them, but hopefully Brian (RarlyL8) will get something going in that department (maybe?). You would probably benefit from even just getting a copy of the instruction booklet as it is full of good information that helps make the whole WUR business make sense. I have one, and I suppose I could make you a copy and mail it to you. I don't think that would be considered appropriate if he was still in business, but maybe it is now? A note about the K-Jet video - the air flow meter described in it is what you would find on a non-turbo 911 (says how arm rises as air is drawn through it) but the one on the turbo is the opposite - the arm/disc lower as air is drawn over it. |
