Was done at TuneRS in Coral Springs/Pompano Beach Florida. My underside was pretty nasty and I thought a lot of the parts were totally ruined due to rust or corrosion. Turns out was just caked on crap. They also cryo'd all the original parts that were taken off my car and I was just amazed. They look brand new (except for normal wear.

That looks like a new bolt holding on the front crossmember.
How do they get it so clean? I'm picturing some guy in a wet suit and scuba gear with a case of gunk engine cleaner and a high powered steam/pressure washer under the car spraying his brains out for a while... |

Cool (literally). I've heard of that process for use in other applications, such as cleaning/sterilizing equipment in the food processing industry.
Wiki says: Dry-ice blasting involves propelling pellets at extremely high speeds. The actual dry-ice pellets are quite soft, and much less dense than other media used in blasting-cleaning (i.e. sand or plastic pellets). Upon impact, the pellet sublimates almost immediately, transferring minimal kinetic energy to the surface on impact and producing minimal abrasion. The sublimation process absorbs a large volume of heat from the surface, producing shear stresses due to thermal shock.[2] This is assumed to improve cleaning as the top layer of dirt or contaminant is expected to transfer more heat than the underlying substrate and flake off more easily. The efficiency and effectiveness of this process depends on the thermal conductivity of the substrate and contaminant. The rapid change in state from solid to gas also causes microscopic shock waves, which are also thought to assist in removing the contaminant.

It is NOT cheap but it does take a special machine, a lot of dry ice, and for my car nearly 3 days of work. But it should cost around $1500-$2,000 depending on needs. I also brought in all my OEM parts that were taken off and they look brand new. Truly amazing.
I think for cars like these which are not garage queens this investment will definitely get your money back plus a bunch more. It is that good. |

One other thing I should note. I used my own pressure washer on my car 2 times and the before pictures is how it came out. It did virtually nothing except get rid of surface dirt. And I have a gas powered Honda unit that is not the Home Depot cheapo model.
