Checkin' in
I gotta say, it's been a long time since I posted anything or even read any posts since I sold my yellow 79 930 years ago. But coming back and reading some of the posts reminds me of a great place to hang out and talk cars. I now have a 550i twin turbo but there's no-where I've found in BMW-world that is as informative and alive with performance junkies as this place. It's good to see a lot of familiar names too.
Y'all have a great and safe 2014... ![]() |

Good to see you post again, I always enjoyed reading your stuff years ago.
Now.. did you post at 9:11pm on purpose or did it just happen? ![]() |

I wish I could claim that...
My wife said I could only visit for an hour or so, then I'll have to step away from the laptop for another 6 months. The thought of getting another 930 is powerful. |

Those BMW's are way too modern. Come back in 6 months and tell us about the new 930 you picked up while you were gone.

You're always welcome here Don. Loved your car and tenacity getting it to where it got to. Some of the craziest builds burn out the marriage between car and man, but time heals all and next thing you know they're dating again just as friends and then...
Several guys here realized their mistake and came back. Best of luck in BMW land. I still love my DD 03 M-tech 540

Hey Don, good to hear from you.
Know what you mean about seeing the familiar names. There's a few I wonder whatever happened to (NathanUK for example?) that I come across when I do a search for something and surf the old threads. The days of feeling like less of a man b/c I'm not painting my own car w/ my own bare hands in my own basement have been replaced by feeling like less of a man for not this or not that, thank goodness 8-). Everytime Trond posts and I see his avatar I think of your build days and that awesome creation. Damn. Love that the car's still around, and good to see you back here again checking in. I'm somewhat of a Bimwad mesself (w/o the Bimwad factor of ///M plate frame ///M valve stem caps ///M underwear, douchey drawn on beard, uberdouchey clothes, sidewayz hat, baggysaggy jeans, etc., that is!). Great driving cars. TOTALLY know what you mean about those forums - I REFUSE to go back to the pain there (cheeky color coded signatures, stoopidass car names, Beast this and Beast that - how ghey!, etc. etc. no thanks. This place rules. That 550biturbo is a pretty neat machine. A bit too digital for me, but a great performer nonetheless. Funny, I'd sold my 930 for a biturbo too - albeit a 12'er 8-). Neat car Ken, didn't know you'd had that - you must have recently added to yer sig? As Ken noted, some dumbasses sell only to regret and buy again... heck I bought my own car back 8-). Who knows, maybe you'll catch your wife off-guard and slip one by her and bam here you are again. Never know heh heh... Last edited by krasuskyp; 01-27-2014 at 07:11 PM.. |

Hey welcome back Don! Good to see you here and you, too, Jeff.
I've been following you old yellow 930 with interest among others, too. It's in good hands!

Good to hear from you Don. It appears you haven't lost your thirst for High Output Engines. How's the P51 work going? Man, your posts were fascinating!

I miss your P51 pics. My wife had a 2011 550ix and now a 2014 550ix. A little on the heavy side, but rocketships for a coupe. But.......not light and raw like a 930. ![]()

Don,
I always enjoyed your posts about your yellow 930. I used some of your ideas such as your MagnaFlow muffler setup ![]() ![]()

Hey Don, nice to hear from you.
Also been out of the fray for years - and occasionally check out my old stomping grounds. Nice to see some old names! Cheers - Glenn
