B&B Intercooler Seals
Does one just re-use the inlet/outlet o-rings on the stock intercooler when replacing with a B&B short neck unit?

Yep, I believe the OEM o'rings are the correct size (worked for my BB anyway). Check 'em for condition, of course.

And the factory shroud has to come out it looks like. Anything I should know about the process to remove it?
Looks like I will fab a replacement since the used cooler I bought didnt come with a B&B shroud.

It doesn't hurt to have a few extras on hand. They are pretty easy to pinch and cut.

The B&B intercooler plate is flat sheet metal, cutout for the IC and the mounting holes. They'll likely sell one to you if you don't want to make on from scratch.
Yes -- original o-rings.

Dug in and got it done, shroud was a pain to get out with a normal allen wrench. Time to go tool shopping.

Yeah, I had to take my shroud out as well. Never did worry about a tight seal since the B&B fit really close to the grill. Purists would say you need to seal to assure maximum air flow through the IC.....but I'm not a purist and didn't see sustained on-boost runs (i.e., tracking) so never worried about it.

You should use new O-rings on your new inercooler. Old O-rings get stretched out and can pinch during installation. The benefits of shrouding your intercooler are worth the effort. No need to have an intercooler if air goes around it rather than through it.

Correct, Brian. One of the finishing touches I had put on the back burner, fabricating a seal.

The o-rings are only a few hundred miles old since I replaced them so I re-used them.
The B&B does fit flush against the tail so I dont think I am going to run a seal. There is however a 5 or 6 inch gap on the drivers side front corner that would normally be filled by the shroud so the plan is to block that off.

I just added the B& B cooler to my car as well. You are right it fits right up against the tail, but with out the shroud it does allow air to pass right by the cooler. I called B&B and they sent me one for $100 its a very easy install and directs air exactly into the cooler.

They work for me but I can't argue with that. I hate the new "features" they have added.
