The accumulator does not regulate fuel pressure, it buffers the pulses and allows for slow pressure bleed down after shut off. Best to track down and repair not attempt to mask.

DONT
fix the problem.
its either the fuel dist, system pressure reg or a clogged return. my money is on the return.
i found my return was kind of pinched back in the far left corner of the engine bay where it goes thru that "loop". i dont think it was bad enough to cause a problem, but it was being squeezed pretty good.

The rubber part of the fuel return line can also be pinched between the chassis and steering rack where it crosses over the steering rack in the front of the car if you install steering rack bump steer spacers under the rack and don't position the line carefully during installation.
