Porsche Exclusive 935 Street up for sale
This car is pretty cool but the auction house estimating price €300,000-€400,000 ($411,750-$548,640) is shocking.
From the article: Ojjeh was fascinated by the success of the Porsche 935 racing car and wanted a “a 935 racing car for the street – but with all the luxuries, of course.” To satisfy his request, Porsche Exclusive used a brand-new 930 bodyshell from the production line and equipped it with race-bred components: the 3.3-liter turbocharged engine from the 934 tuned to produce 375hp, as well as suspension, brakes, and wide-arch panelwork from the 935 race car. 18 pictures and article . |

Not too shocking. I have had some pretty substantial offers for my 84 Kremer K2. This one is similar to the later K3 Kremer style bodystyle. Mine was a similar build from a new 930 by Kremer who built most of the 935s after the factory effort reportedly ceased, late 70s. I wonder also what it will sell for as they were both built for an exclusive client, ( as most specials were).

anything done to the suspension?
400K, i dont see it. dont know what it is if its the color or how the car looks in th efirst pic. something about the rockers/wheel/ ride height. there may be a lot in the conversion, but the car just no hit the 400k mark for me.

If you're referring to my K2?, Kremer GMBH only built a few street 2 935s. DP made many cars with some K2 body parts, some with relatively mild mods. M. Andretti or a sponsor ( everyone wanted him to drive their cars in those days as he was a very accomplished driver of many types of race cars, consequently an important client so no surprise they built a nice one) had Kremer build a 956 in 82-83 and this was built around that time. Show me another authentic build sheet from Kremer that states what you say. I've only seen mine. Agree with T77911S, they are a different looking street car, ( the Ojjeh K3 style one defiantly needs to be lower ride height ) more like it should be on track with lots of graphics and such, however if my K2 was cool enough to have M Andretti associated with it, need I say more.

The maroon car is a factory built car, not an aftermarket conversion.

To each their own, now your splitting hairs. Kremer was a very successful Porsche 935 race car builder with many accomplishments to hold up the Porsche racing banner. Read Starkeys book on the complete history of 935 chassis builds. They are not considered conversions, or do you think so?. Kremer brothers had very close ties with Porsche racing and their 935 racing success.

Actually, considering this is a Porsche factory "special wishes car", and not some aftermarket hack job, yes, the price looks very reasonable.
This example goes FAR beyond a lipstick-color someone wanted on their Porsche.

Nah, I'll just take their word for it. It is pretty quick though. I have a few 930s with over 700 HP with 335 rears that weigh more and the 0 -60 acceleration seems to be very similar, so it could be accurate. Top speed could also be accurate, from other slant nose tests I have read. The kremer is more aerodynamic than those that were around 180MPH with less HP. Anyway it is by Kremer who built some very important Porsche cars with their confidence and blessings, so I'll just take their word for it.

Agreed, for a person who wants a one off from Porsche, It may not be for everyone with the $$$$ to want but it has plenty of provenance and pizazz.

Just looked it up. Looks like it fell short of expectations, around $320K not $500+K. Still a lot of $$$$. OOps nickyclyde, just saw
your info. Thanks.

Here's the link to the lot:
Bonhams : Factory commissioned and first owned by Mansour Ojjeh, Techniques d'Avant Garde,1983 Porsche 911 Type 930/935 Turbo Coupé Chassis no. WPOZZZ93ZDS000817 Engine no. 6700689 I'm a little surprised it didn't go for more, though unclear if this was the Bonham's Spa auction for a pretty rare Porsche like this. My guess is that if it had been auctioned at one of the Monterey auctions this summer it would have done a bit better.
