The wastegate has a lower hose that as I undestand goes before the intake into the intake tube, and the upper port as I understand vents to the air. Any pictures of this connection? Thanks Ivan

as pictured # 5 hose goes to wastegate lower line. As you state the top of the wastegate vents to air

Wow that is some engine porn right there! Gorgeous work Steve!
This thread bump brings back a lot of memories. Although I sold my Euro '76 930 non-sunroof for a lot of money 3 years ago, I sure do miss it. More pics: https://goo.gl/photos/g8KBjKuWovTaT6cs9 ![]() Last edited by G60SuperCharger; 08-18-2017 at 08:27 AM.. |

Thanks stevie, great information. I might be sending you some more questions if you don't mind. I am in the process of doing the engine work.
I am not doing a 100% back to stock. I kept the headers, and left the air pump out for now and I am still debating on the need to add the stock BOV. ![]()

The stock BOV works perfectly well and i wouldn't delete it. As you know it integrated into the up and down pipes. If you are referring to the decel valve, that too, when woking correctly serves a good purpose. Here in California, without the air pump and EGR, i wouldn't pass the visual smog test, but I do get by with W-pipes vs thermos.
Your engine is looking good !

I am not doing the emissions parts for now. I will problably gather the parts over time just to have them but I do not need them for my inspections.
What I am referring to is the part circled on the picture below. I do not have it, don't know what it does and not sure If I get one how will I install the hoses if the car does not have the emission components. I refer to it as BOV, but not sure if accurate. All turbo carreras I have seen are not using it, some have it delete ans some are just sitting there. Any suggestions? ![]()

What have " circled" is the control valve and what you " X" is the diverter valve. You are correct, not needed if you are not using the air injection system.
In case you want to know what these do: The control valve is boost activated and measures a certain amount of pressure and then sends that pressure to the diverter valve, opening the diverter valve to divert air away from air injection system during boost conditions.
