It has been freshly painted all new rubber parts, front windshield, headliner, carpet, H4 upgrade as well as all the other modifications, it won best of show at Quaker Steak and lube car show.

Very cool car.
I will not try to estimate value but will say I bet it is worth more in stock configuration in today's market.

Amazing car!
Pretty much perfect - if you want a 'steroid fed wolf' - in wolves clothing!!!
That car must be scary fast, however I agree with the previous post about it being worth a lot more as a stock car - sad but true!
if you could be bothered to return it to stock then the 'go fast' parts would also be worth a huge amount.
It seems modified 930's are being valued less and less then before (part of the reason I am collecting together all of the stock body parts for my car)
I hope it does find a buyer 'as is', after all of the hard work and cash spent!
Best of luck
Ben

True..stock would probably be worth more...but there are individuals who would love a build like this...most important part is that the body has not been modified...throw some Fuchs on that bad boy and it's a sleeper 930..documentation, receipts and any accompany paper work on the build is essential for a good sale.

Buying these cars as investment is a great thing if you don't plan to drive them but if you do...anything can happen on the road to turn your investment into paperweight...go out and enjoy yourself with your toy..you only live once..

I'd like to offer a little counterpoint to the endless posts that buyers do not like (or pay for) modifed cars. To avoid any confusion, I am not saying that a modded car will enjoy the same valuation as a stock one. Repeat: Stock cars will always be worth more than modified.

Ok?

Good...as the value of stock cars rise, the value of modifieds will generally also rise, but not as much. Modified values won't go down while the bone stock examples appreciate...unless they are ugly POS's.

Now, please have a look at this mongrel:

FS- 1970 911T coupe with 930 3.3 turbo engine

Its a freakin' beautiful mongrel. Asking price of 79k for a longhood 911, with RS flares, 930 3.3 liter engine, and a 915 transmission that "needs attention" This car was sold in a matter of days. Absolutely nothing about this car was stock, and yet it sold in days for an asking price that probably exceeds most stock 911Ts. Of course we don't know the actual selling price, but the speed of sale suggest that the car was priced close to "market"

This shows that modded cars can command some pretty good prices if they are well done and documented.

just a few months ago somebody placed a wtb add for a "fast 930" here. Maybe they are still in the market.

To me the downside of selling heavily modified cars is all about finding the right buyer at a bit of patience. There are people willing to pay for the mods or at least not devalue the car, you just have to be united with the right car on the market.

Personally, I would rather have this car than an all original 89, without question.

(aschen) Personally, I would rather have this car than an all original 89, without question.

Me too, I sold a perfect stock 89 in favor of a more heavily modded 89 recently. All I can say after owning dozens of 930s I tend to hang on to the nicely modded ones as well as unusual, outstanding or rare ( color, condition etc ) stock ones. After all, when done from a great 930 to begin with, then someone paying from $10K to $50K or more + labor, in neat original or reproduced similar to Porsche developed go fast stuff, whats not to like? If the project started with a wreck or rusty car found in the junkyard, and or if its got MOPAR or GM additions or someone has taken artistic license and used materials to create something Porsche never built one like, well of course that's a different story. A 930 was conceived to be a very fast car so why not have one that way. No one is saying stock should be berated even if different than the original purpose for the 930 . Very few other cars made have this potential flexibility with their origins. Maybe some more will actually drive them both ways and feel the need to own them both ways. Especially if cashing in on a big ticket sale. I know I sold Astons, Ferraris, 300SL, Lambo, Bentley, A H 3000s etc from my dealership in favor of getting these. They were and still are ( my opinion ) undervalued, stock or well modded, when you compare with some other cars that have been into 6 figures for quite awhile.

I agree, my car was built by a well known builder with nothing but the best parts and runs , handles, rides and looks like new. I am probably looking at $75,000 for this well sorted out car and believe me probably twice that invested.

Believe it or not I was going to post that I would estimate you had $150k in this beauty and would bet you'd likely get around half that.
My car wants to be your car when it grows up.
GLWS!

Yes, nice car, def worth 75k, unfortunately it's a very small niche market. You'll have to be extremely patient, eventually it will sell. If you want a quick sale, then more like 50-65k is the number IMHO.

Curious to know; how do you like the Electromotive ecu in the car? Any driveability issues with it?

Chris.

I got nothing to add but rather a question. What turbo exactly do you have and how much boost? On E85? Race gas? I assume race gas since E85 would be stretching your injectors at hp I believe.

Enquiring minds want to know.......

Although my garage is full I do have willing buyers waiting for my stock ones. I very seldom sell unless I can get something I prefer. Fair notice to those considering either this or one of mine. PM sent. Will someone pls buy it and put me out of my misery. , what a nice car. I can compliment now you have settled into a price range.

Hey Tony-I used to live on Greenvale in Bayside! My company is in Hartland but I now live in Florida. Did you PM me? I don't think I got it. I think you should make some room in your garage- it's a quick shipment up there.
Thanks,
Dave

Also- I have had no problems with the electromotive Tec3R and I have all the current bin files and it's very easy to change parameters.
At 733 rwhp I was running 23lbs of boost with 116 race gas. I always run the car at stock boost- 14.7lbs of boost on premium gas which is about 100hp less which is definitely more than adequate. I did switch over to Mickey Thompson drag radials that do not break loose even in low gear, had to because the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires were breaking loose when coming on boost at 60mph. With the quaife differential the car pulls perfectly straight regardless of tire spin-it's very predictable.

Bayside, eh? Another coincidence. I grew up the road from Hartland in Oconomowoc. Nice areas to drive fast cars and enjoy summer drive ins for junk food at the Kilite and for run offs on those nice country roads. My outbox shows sent today @ 10:27 AM. Let me know if you did not get it. Thanks Tony
