Scavenge Pump

Attempting to disassembly my scavenge pump and I'm unable to remove the drive pin (not enough room to slide it out) and the cover won't come off without the drive pin out? Not sure if the pin is to be cut shorter and then slide out? allowing the cover to come off.

Any ideas how I can disassemble this thing.
thanks in advance
Rod

Recenter the pin and the plate will separate from the housing.

Quick question- my motor is out right now so I figured I'd ask: is there anything serviceable on these? Meaning, are you disassembling it for inspection, and if you don't like the looks of it it's time for replacement, or is there something you can do to them? Thanks

I originally serviced the scavenge pump because I had seen a lot of
coking in the return lines and fittings. I also had a slow leaking down the
back corner of the engine. Once I got the pump removed I also noticed
the dive pin was worn badly.

I changed the shaft seal and perimeter gasket on the pump and
replaced the worn drive pin.

Replaced all the original oil lines with 6AN braided lines and fittings,
added an in line (cleanable) filter and relocated the pump outlet hose from
the tank to the crankcase breather cover.

Gents:

Our gracious host has the seals and gaskets the pins are a special
order from the Fatherland. I have special hardened pins you can
simply cut to length. If anyone needs one just PM me your address
and I would be glad to send you one at no cost.

Gotcha... so I'm not the only one that can't find it on the website... I'll give them a call.

Cole - I'd likely take you up on the hardened pin material... especially if it means I don't need to wait for something that small from Germany. I'll PM you.

Thanks,

I don't find the O-ring in the PP catalog but the number is 99970728940
The shaft seal and paper gasket are in the catalog as 99911324640 and 93010519705 respectively.
Also, the drive pin is not listed in PET that I can find but it might be the same as the Sportomatic pin which is 90030200100
