Programmable CDI Box - Classic Retrofit

I was wondering if anyone had experience or insight whether this programmable CDI box would be worth pursuing. It seems like it would allow for a lot of flexibility with regard to controlling timing and detonation.

Classic Retrofit 911 CDI+

I think I may have some detonation on early boost initiation.

Alternatively, I can take the distributor out and have it checked....

Thanks!

I'd try it if there was some way to vary the advance with load. (Best I can tell, it is only one advance curve, without adjustment for vacuum/boost)

Hi Tonger,

I missed this post. We currently have a few Turbos running our ignition. They show improvements in throttle response but we have not run one on a dyno yet.

We supply a locking collet that allows you to lock a Turbo/SC dizzy without dismantling or taking it out of the car. This will allow you to get a more accurate ignition map than with weights/springs.

Our £795 unit will do everything you need. Only difference to the £995 on is that it comes with a built in waterproof programming lead.

We are looking at integrating a MAP sensor but it is a way off yet. We also like the idea of controlling fuel pressure which would allow to provide a fuel curve of sorts.

Follow us on Facebook to keep in the loop.
