Question New and used 3ldz prices?

Hi all...

Can someone tell me what a used 3LDZ and a New (new, never used never installed) 3ldz go for?

Looked around for a price on the new and all I could find is a "total rebuild" for $2000.00

Looking for a fair price to sell these. Or should I just ebay them?

Thoughts?

Used with no history is a core that might be rebuildable,$200 ballpark, a new one $1000 on eBay.

$2000 for rebuilt, that's nuts.

Is this for a 3.0 or a 3.3?

A good rebuild from a reputable company is ~$600.

These things are being used as door stops in every P-shop in the world. The only value they might have is that tens of thousands have probably hit the scrap yard to get them out of the way, reducing their numbers. Also they are usually junk. After 100,000 miles most cores are not (cheaply) rebuildable. Two of three are scrap and the third requires machining for a final cost >$1000. The tags are always torn up so they never look new again.

KKK/BW may still manufacture them, they still make the K27-7200. I cannot think of any reason to buy a new 3LDZ. If restoring an engine you need the correct manufacturing date, which won't be on a new one. If your old one is shot you just have it rebuilt.

I think this is great! We all have spare door-stops for sale :-)

Now I, of course, have the original 3LDZ from my poor old burnt girl (RIP) that was one of the first things I took off when staring the downward slope of performance. And am now running - once again - with a 3LDZ on Der Phoenix. Perhaps to be rectified this summer with either my 7200...or my 7006 rescued from the carnage.
