Sadly, the Widowmaker still defends its title. From the yaw marks in one of the pics looks like it swapped ends in the curve.

license plate of XF belongs to Dr. Xanathos Fernandoukis, a well know physician it seems.

Looks like a residential area, and the tires look bald to boot. Not a good combo.

so sorry to see this, my heart goes out to the family

Houston police say Dr. Robert Fain Jr., 67, was speeding in the older Porsche when he lost control and crashed near Kirby around 10:40 p.m.

such a sad day for him and his family, RIP. I can't help but wonder if he might have survived had he been driving a coupe instead of a cab?

Looks like he went straight in, not your typical snap over steer in these cars.

Sorry to see this. A loss of life is never easy to read about.

That's tragic. R.I.P. I wonder if alcohol was a factor ? Buzzed driving and a turbo do not mix well.

That stretch of road runs along the bayou, which makes it one of Houston's few interesting, curvy roads in town. But it also has very poor asphalt due to the poor soil conditions surrounding the bayou (which regularly floods) - - lots of rough, uneven pavement and swales that can hold a bit of water and/or upset car balance. Posted speed is ~35, if I recall. Pine trees on one side, and a big, deep, water-filled ditch on the other - - not a lot of room for error at high speed (which would be anything above 55 IMO). My thoughts go to his friends and family. Be safe.

Very sad and sobering. A strong reminder to replace your tires at least every 5 years even if they don't show wear. I just replaced the tires on my 930 and it was quite scary how hard they were.

I don't think it was a cab because there appears to be 'C' pillars. More likely they cut the roof off after the accident.

Andial intercooler...it was tuned. I bet it wasn't driven often the tires were probably dry as well as bald. Power and bad tires are tragic combo. So sad.

I wish journalists would learn a little about the language they profess to write in however. Speed is already a rate, it is "high speed", not "high rate of speed". sheesh!
