You can do a 3-wire Carrera idle valve like this (Lowside 1 and Lowside 3 in the following picture):

I have this setup on my engine and idle is perfect and follows targeted idle speed very well.

Lowside 1 goes to Pin 1 of the valve, Lowside 3 goes to Pin 3 on the valve, +12v on Pin 2.

Thanks for that picture. I have LS3 and LS6 set up like that but does not seem to work for me. I will use LS1 and LS3 like you have done and report back. Do you by chance have a pic of the IdleBasePosition and IdleTargetTable on the idle tab page ?

Thanks for your assistance !

Sandeep

Here are my settings from the idle tab. These base positions will be different depending upon your base throttle blade position. I set mine up that base idle position is about 25% when warm so that in the event that the idle valve were to fail, it would still idle right at 1000 rpm since the valve rests at about 25% open with no current applied.

I also implement the PID ignition feedback at idle as well, also helps keep the idle rock stable.

Thanks '76 911S 3.0.

I've set up LS3 and LS6 like you have shown and it works great ! The car only runs for about 10 seconds then dies .. guessing this has to do with the FuelTrim_Coolant table. More reading and tuning to come !

Guessing I can also use one of the LS outputs to control my oil temp gauge. Temp gauge is stock 912 and the temp sender is Carrera 3.2. I have the AEM 1/8 NPT temp sender ... wondering where is the best place to tap into. I will be changing the oil before spring.

Thanks again.

Awesome! Glad it worked out for you. You can definitely use a LS for the gauge, I use one for oil temp and another for oil pressure. When I get back into the office on Monday I will post how to set those up as well.

Here is how I have the gauges set up in IT:

Oil Temp:

Oil Pressure:

I set my x-axis break points to each hash mark indicator on the gauge face itself to ensure that I had the calibration correct; the ECU then interpolates in between. I also have an AEMNet gauge in place of my clock and when looking at both temp and pressure on the AEMNet gauge, the factory gauge is spot on.

Now that is pretty cool. Thanks for the pics and guidance ... Looks like I don't have to spend any additional cash on the proper sender for the factory gauge. As long as the ecu has the proper sender, it can be displayed on the factory gauge

Brilliant solution.

Cheers,

Sandeep

I'm running Denso iridium plugs gapped to 0.028" with Denso smart COPs ... any ideas on how much dwell I should / could be running ?

Thanks !

Man that thing sounds wicked! I bet that guy in the 997TT pooped a little when he thought he would walk you on the front straight only to see you still right there!

Had a chance to get out to CTMP DDT north of Toronto for a lapping day with the 912.
