Pic request of fender routed Intake opening (org. fuel-filter/accum area)

Since the engine is out and I hate the small opening at stock location which reguires either stock uppipe or silicon piping that is squeezed.

IIRC some have the 3in or bigger hole where the three boltholes for the filter flange are. Does the ground screw stay?

DonE pics are 3in but final setup 4in.

My 4" cold air intake plumbing project.
nocarrier 4in alu-weld setup

I remember seeing and downloading some of TK pics but cant find them no more?

Also found a trick CF setup in DonE's link above by Neil Harvey

.

I wonder if that is used somewhere and how did it perform? RAM would be cool but not sure how it goes in front of the rear tire. That area could be positive pressure on a widebody.

Today 17€ ( 100 mm bit and adapter ) later. I thought its better to leave the stock bungs in there so hopefylly I can use this hole without too much trouble. If space in the wheel side is tight there are cobra adapters. I have one in my TB.

That carbon one looks really trick. It looks like it can house a factory air cleaner, and would be used on a car with the fender slats (slant nose vents). The only down side is that while there is likely a decent amount of air getting to the vent, there is also an equally decent amount of water and road debris that peppers that area of the car as well.

I've run a 3" inlet pipe through the stock location. It required a bit of fabrication but not too much.

That looks nice. I just hate how crowded that left side is in my car.

Yeah, that doesn't look like it will fit.
Filter for a shop vacuum?

Whoa!! A relic from our past. We made these some 25+ years ago I think. I threw the molds away just recently as I knew I would never make anymore. They were expensive even back then.

It worked really well by was for a single Turbo only . And yes, it drew the air from the side vent in from of the rear tire.

So the truck filter fitted with no IC setup that I used for my first runs. Actually first one was NA then with turbo but no IC.

Then it was time to try the IC and it fit JUST.

First impressions: boost control mac 4port now overshoots like crazy. I have to tame the boost dyty map.

That’s cool. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen anyone preform this mod. Nice that it all fit.
I’m curious about your innercooler. Did you make it or have it made? Looks like an 1-1/2”
core ?

It's an early TurboKraft unit. The newer one with two cores with middle bend is more effective with carrera no-wing lid (or ductale) though. Not sure if it would fit with that huge paper filter though. I use water meth injection on boost trigger to counter the smaller size.

I need to start my boost control from cratch. Just could not dial it from earlier setup? First open loop for dyty cycle/target then start advanced again with PID and gear based targets. Spinned second gear (315 R888) before overboost protection cut in so its a hoot to drive.

Yep I’ve seen the two core TK units. That’s probably the way I’ll go if they’re still available.
Thanks for the response.
