One that ran up under a truck 30 years ago and was sent to the dump or parted out.
These engines rarely come out of functioning 930's. I have a 930/53 that was also orphaned.

I almost did the truck thing back in the early 80's in a turbo, got behind a slow poke doing 25 mph. Down shifted into 1st to pass, I hammered the throttle and the turbo was instant on, lifted to save the car then out in the other lane I went.

4 trucks and grandma up front is what I ended up passing, I went by granny at about 150 and never looked back.

One of my first times driving the Turbo I got stuck behind Daryl and his brother Daryl on Hwy 49, a winding two lane Hwy, I was taking to Placerville for fun. Came to a sharp right where I could see down the road. Downshift and too the floor I went. Boost kicked in halfway past him and I found out you can drift a 930. Just don't lift was all I kept thinking...

I believe the car from my 930/51 is still out there. Shop that pulled my engine said the owner decided to just replace with a good running 3.3 when my studs broke. Someone would do well to buy mine. But it's spoken for at this time.

All kidding aside when I owned the engine the Brian has I was doing some research with the idea if someone upgraded to 3.3 they may be wanting their 3.0 back. Google, there is a site for known 76-77 3.0L cars and you may find someone. I also posted in the Pelican marketplace That I had an engine of serial #.......... is anyone looking for it? Who knows if you are lucky and find a match it has extreme value. To that one owner anyway.

I guess there are a few of us 930/51 (52-53) owners out here wondering what would happen if we found the car these belonged to. Would we buy the car or sell the engine?

HAHA!! No doubt!!! Those early 911S type brakes! Those and no intercooler was why you could buy those 76/77 turbos for 18 to 25 grand all day long 10 years ago

I have a 77 with non-matching engine, someone put a 3.3 in it and blew that one up. Engine number 6870461. I don't know if I would buy it but it would be interesting to know if it lives somewhere.
