Wide Rear Tires

For those of you running the wide Coker Michelin TB tires in the rear; what tires are compatible to run in the front?

I'm thinking a 235 or 245 front with a 270 in the rear.

I'd suggest 235 because that's the width of my front tires.

Michelin TB's don't come in 235or 245, only 215's. My 215's measure out to be more like a 225-245.
The 215's, 295's and 335's all measure about 24" tall, while the 270 measures about 25.7" tall.
I'm running 215's front and 335's rear.

I am running 315's in the rear and 225's in front. a little bit much on the understeer side but easily induce oversteer with the boost. I don't drive the car much anymore so it comes down to appearance to me mostly...I love the look!

Doesn't that upset the handling and braking pretty bad? I run 255/315 and think that is about as far apart as I would go. Ran 225 for a short time and they locked up easy and had terrible understeer.

I forgot to add that I am talking 15" diameter wheels. That is what presents the largest problem with finding wider tire sizes.

TB 270/45/15 are 25" in diameter which will work ok for the rear. I was hoping to find at least a 225 for the front but they are not available is Coker Michelin TB and I am afraid using another manufacturer's tire to completer the set will completely throw-off the handling.

With Michelin TB15's there is nothing between 215 & 295's. The 215 thread width is 7.875", which falls between a 225 and 245. I'm running 13x15 Fuchs on the rear with the 335's.
If I was going for max handling I'd switch to 17's.

My 270/45/15's measured 25.7" tall, compared to the 24" tall 215-335's.

Summit Racing has the 270/45/15 listed below at 24.5" diameter.

I'd confirm that, and on what width rim. Here's a shot of the 270's. Hard to see on the car, but 270 rears on 11x15's and 215 fronts.

It may not be the look you are after but I have one set of Pirelli 345/35-15 left in my stash. I buy these whenever Pirelli makes a run for the Lambo/Pantera folks. I'm running 17's now and have no immediate plans to go back to 15's. The set on my 15" wheels will stay there but the extra set is collecting dust and age which is no good. I haven't checked on 225/50-15 availability lately but that is the size I had to run in the front.

Thanks Brian,

I currently have 8" x 15 and plan on getting 9" x 15 for rear. The max width would be about 270 for the 9" so the 345 will not work for me.

Thanks again,

Rahl

I test fit the 270's on the 9's which is where I came up with the tire height.
