Engine popping and backfire
On my last ride last fall problem developed. Car is an 85 carrera. A Frankenporsche to some but a beauty to me. Car has been totally rebodied in steel 993 body. Anyway was out for ride last fall. After driving for about an hour with no problem I pull into my driveway and the car started popping and backfiring and bucking when letting off gas. When getting back into gas car would bog down then pick up and take off. Drove back out and condition persisted. Didn't start car again till spring. Car did start but ran very rough. I did not attempt to drive and shut it off. At that point noticed fuel dripping at front of passenger side rear tire. Have not done anything since. Any ideas???

Possibly cracked fuel line. this will lower your fuel pressure causing rich condition most likely.
Find the source of the fuel leak and repair it first. Naturally this could be a huge fire risk. You may want to move this to the Tech Forum (they will know more about your 3.2 Carrera) as the is the Turbo Forum section. Rrahl |

That part of the car is where the carbon filter for the gas tank vent is located. It might be plugged up. The fuel lines are on the drivers side.
