Boost gauge to replace clock - options?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to get a boost gauge to replace my clock.

What is available out there?

I think North Hollywood Speedometer still has the VDO that replaces the clock, but are there any other options?

Since you are running MS3 you could do what I did:

This gage is available from PerfectTuning. It can display several types of data over the can bus including boost pressure in kpa or psi. It can be installed in an old clock base. I did a post on my install if you are interested.

^^^ That is cool Dennis. I think I like it better than the Zietronix Multi Gauge.

I'm a big fan of the GaugeArt CAN display...they make one specific to MS3 as well:

What PLX gauge is that? I have a PLX and love it, but my gauge has a very small display. Is that an upgrade option? What's the part number?

I've had mine for years so I think PLX has changed the display options over time. I can toggle the display option as in the pic below, except that some of the colors and display graphics are slightly different.

Multigauge

FYI. I emailed Perfecttuning about a plain black face. I don't care for the carbon fiber look. He actually is working on new face options now. He sent me a pic of the new blank. He is going to offer them anodized in different colors.

If you want one with a stepper motor, and new technology that still has a needle, you could go with something like this...
80mm is a perfect size.

Derrick,

When he first developed this gauge it did not have a carbon fiber face, just matte black. But is March 2017, he announced that it had a "new" carbon fiber face. That was the timeframe I ordered mine. There is a thread on MS forums (Expansion Boards by Superazz) where the gauge development is documented.

How would you get that to read correctly with the Porsche sender... Don't they have to be calibrated together?

It comes with its own sender. It's basically just a MAP sensor

That perfect tuning gauge wouldn’t be too bad without the carbon fiber and with a different font.

Is that comic sans?

^^^ Yep. That's why I emailed them about a plain black face. .
If you go to the website the gauge is fully programmable with some great AFR and Boost warning options where all the lights will flash when there is an issue. You can pick light colors and flash speed too. I'm sold!

Here's another alternative to perfect tuning gauges. They just came out with a square display for AEM infinity ecus. They should be expanding to other standalone ecus sooon. Btw, the standard gauge already supports lots of aftermarket ecus
