What a highly modified 930 can actually accomplish

Hi Guys,

Many moons ago, I discussed the types of mods that my buddies car has and the results with the way the car now runs. Ed's car has a Kevlar clutch and aluminum pressure plate coupled to an engine built to the following specs:

3.5 litre P&C with wider spigots to accomodate (7.5:1)
GT3 Oil Pump and Additional Oil Coolng MOCAL
Evo GT2 Cams
Carillo Rods
H20 Inj
EFI w/3.2 manifold PORT AND POLISH to flow match expanded head ports SDS system
Heads ported to support and TWIN PLUG
TIAL Wastegate
GARRETT 3586
GHL HEADERS
Full Bay Intercooler

The video below is the fruits of the labor, and is a good comparison as we chased down a 918 Spyder on the track.

Any body have something similar and an approximate HP estimate on this build as we have not had it dynoed.

Cnielsen's made 597 HP at .8 BAR with a similar setup. That car dropped a 4L GT3RS like it was standing still exiting from all corners at Thunder Hill.

Sounds like a great car. But where was the chase down part? That 918 disappeared on the long straights. Catching him in the slow parts while he is following traffic does not count.

Exactly, nothing extraordinary with 918, it is just a stroll to warm tires.

I think the 918 driver was updating his Facebook.

This is the 2nd time this car has been touted badass.

Why are there those who keep touting this car? Is there an underlining reason for it???

Is it going for sale? Are we supposed to vote for it in a national car contest? What's the reasoning for stating it's badassery?!

It ain’t a race if you’re the only one trying... this looks to be a lead and follow, all the cars ahead seem to be leaving this 930 on the straights... you know there’s probably a reason they put this car in back of the lead and follow....

Someone recently told me about the money that can be made with a successful YouTube channel.
I think this is a marketing post to get views for the video and channel.

Yes, there's undertones of something other than the car itself.

It's got a GT35 based turbo on it, it's not that much of a monster like Juan Ruiz or GJF. I've yet to see these guys post ridiculous vids of their rides. Hint-hint. 😂

Rawknees'Turbo 10-10-2017 09:12 AM

Ha ha - that is the same video that "Jerry S" (or something like that) posted a long time ago (along with other, similar style videos) - guess he got tired of being ribbed about his vids and though that a new user ID would garner different results? :)

I blame Canada.

Totally unremarkable video.

T77911S 10-11-2017 03:44 AM

this is absolutely hilarious!!

if the 930 thinks he is competitive with that 918 in THAT video, then the cars ahead of the 918 are just as fast because the 918 aint passin them

you can put all the HP in world in there but if you don't have the traction it wont do you any good.

like someone said, I think the 918 was on facebook.

Hasn't been on a dyno? How the hell is it tuned then?

You don't need a dyno to tune. Heck, even after the dyno, you need to tune on the street to account for things notreplicated on a load dyno.

911nut 10-11-2017 05:26 AM

The OP has (1) post.
Maybe we're being trolled? :D
A 600 hp 930? (yawn). Seems like everyone's got a 600 hp 930 on this board (except me :()
I've seen this before on Youtube. Someone posts a vid of a 930 or 965 with bolt-on mods and raves about what a monster it is. Meh.

I think you missed the point. Like a couple others, I'm calling BS on the build. ;)
