Tate's blue 930 (965) on Youtube
Tate or Chris, at 1:11 you can clearly see a fuel pressure gauge on the WUR. Any details on that setup and what you are using to read and log that data. -Thanks

Makes adjusting control pressure a bit easier. Search on the forum and you'll find various setups.
Super cool car, btw.

There is a PLX Devices display in place of the clock.

I have had the pleasure of having this car in my driveway. It is a super clean car. Studying the details of the build is a true pleasure for an aficionado.
This car, including its archaic CIS, which I believe already saw some Turbokraft magic, is freaking awesome - my feeling when drooling over it outside my garage. I have also had the pleasure of following Tate (in my rear view mirror (see what I did there Tate? ![]() To me Tate is a fellow Porsche nut. I am merely painting a picture of my impressions of this fine build. If it was my car, no way it would ever sell it! Good luck

For me A true 930 or 965 Turbo has to have it's CIS, that's part of the experience.

I certainly understand the originality aspect of keeping CIS, but im curious what do you guys think it offers in terms of improved driving experience?

The word "driving" was not used in Helio's comment. CIS is part of the 930's character, like it or not. EFI changes that character completely. It's all about what the individual wants out of the car. Couple of things you could do to the blue car if CIS is retained, dial back the static boost level so you could use the entire RPM range, or put a boost controller on it that dials back the boost at 5500rpm so you can use the rest of the range. The latter would be my choice. Also for god's sake put the A/C back in it. Either way it's a nice build!

I saw this car in Monterey and talked with Tate for a few.
It is one of those cars that at first look, setting next to other 911's, you miss how custom it is. Then you start looking closer and talking to Nate and see that the amount work done is nearly endless. Suspension, engine, body, interior has all been modified or custom built to complete his vision. It's a really bad Azz car! Tate is pretty cool too. ![]()

Thanks for the kind words Derrick. This was a 3.5 year build. Lots of critics out there that have never built a car to this level or do not understand this engine or its fueling. Car is insane fast with the CIS. I fully understand the benefits of EFI as Chris and I have built a few cars. Turbokraft. He built me the Ichiban 3.3 liter EFI engine RWB. Martini car. Love that engine. I often drive these cars back to back.... totally different and I like both of them. Tate

I would be very curious to know the modifications to be made to have so much power with a CIS.
CIS of origin is known to be a rein for major powers "reliable" engine. Have you really 600 wrhp? In what maximum pressure of turbo? ![]() |
