Cam Tower - Rocket Arm Shaft Journal
Hi,
Hoping for some guidance. I may have had one of my rocker arm shafts overnightened. What are the specs for the journals? Or can they be checked by using new shafts and assessing the fit? Thanks James |

Check the fit with a good shaft. Usually it’s hard to over tighten, most times you will crack the shaft ends when doing that.

Thanks Craig. I will check it as you mention.
I may buy new shafts. The shafts look like they have been exposed to moisture, however they do not have any scoring. |

I just replaced two shafts (along with valve stem seals). I used a torque wrench on the 5mm bold and held the 8mm with an allen wrench until the 8mm stopped turning.

Ed - is just about any clicker 1/4" drive ratchet going to a) have its head fit into the big open space, and b) have a handle long enough that you can get the torque?

I use a Snap-On torque wrench Walt, fits just fine. Length is plenty to get the leverage required.
