89 G50 Carrera:

Have to do the top end this summer. While in there, whats the easiest HP increase?

Bump to 3.4?
Cams?

Thanks

Easiest horsepower would have to be cams. "camgrinder" can regrind your cams for pretty cheap.

No need for stronger valvesprings with the profiles he can grind your 3.2 cams to.

3.4 and higher compression would cost an arm and a leg.

used Dougherty Cams (dc30) on my 911 E and was extremely happy with the results.

Anyone with experience using his DC 19 ? on a 89 Carrara 3.2

car has SW chip, cat bypass and two out muffler.

Thanks,

Chris

If you need a top end then the incremental cost to go to JE 98mm high comp pistons should be minimal. Send the cylinders out to be bored and plated to fit.

Add cams to suit. Yours should be regrindable, you'll probably want to have the rockers rebuilt as well.

Cheap may not be the way I'd describe it, but easy.... maybe. A bit of chip tuning might be a good idea and worth it to match the EFI to the "new" motor.

Steve Wong might be a good person to contact - he seems to have a good idea what these motors, in particular, respond to best. He could map a new chip based on your specs an AFR data after the build.
