911 Engine Assembly - Video Series - (sort of)

Rebuilding a 3.0 motor, and thought I'd try to make a video along the way..
Turns out making the video is more difficult than the engine assembly !!

Hoping this playlist link works...

Terrific, I'm considering splitting the case. Will you be adding the chain (vid6), I'd like that very much.

In my experience, it is always a good idea to split the case. If you are down to the short block, it is not much more work really.

Yes, timing chains coming...

GREAT!!! but I'm surprised you put the crankcase studs in BEFORE you put the case together. Seems that would have been difficult to do without the block together and on the engine stand.

Also... would have liked to see what prep work you did to the case prior to assembly. When putting your P&C in, I noticed you sealed up some areas on your block that I'm not familiar with.

G'Day
the cylinders are stock Mahle that were recoated and honed to size by a a company here in Australia; Electrosil. Over in the usa you have a couple of excellent options.

The pistons/rings are from CP. I bought them through William Knight and he organised a custom compression ratio for my needs. He is on these forums.. And will be glad to assist.

Thanks for watching..hope you gave the vids a 'like' !
