Question Turbo: Stroking using a 993 Crankshaft?

I'm considering using a set of 98mm Turbo P&C's (7.5:1) in my 3.2 Carrera Turbo project.

Will the 993 crank drop right in place, or are certain mods required to accommodate this upgrade?

I believe this will get me to ~3.5L, correct?

Drops right in. You will find that the 993 rods have a narrower wrist pin bushing but that is not an issue. If this is bothersome you can run 3.2/3.3/ 3.6 964 rods in there place.
Just to make Snowman happy, I'd suggest 964 Carrillo rods.

One added bonus is the increase in compression offered by increase stroke.

One more thought, watch your oil pump clearance. The 3.6 pumps have more clearance cast into the housing.

Thank-you for the response, Henry.

If I used, say, 97mm 7.0:1 930/C2T P&C's with a 993 crank, what would the C/R bump up to?

I don't plan to run extreme RPM's on this motor, so I'll stick with the stock 3.2/930 rods and just run some good ARP fasteners.

P.S: Are the 993 piston squirters the same size (2mm) as the 964 squirters? I figure since I have to split the case to do the crank, I might as well upgrade the splash valves too.

I just did the same swap into my 930 case. Im not sure about the squirters, but I do know that I had to screw around with the layshaft gears as the 993 had a diffrent pitch than the 930. If it were me doing it all over again I would have machined the biggest squirters into the block because I have the 993 turbo oil pump. To give you an idea about oil pressure, my motor made 2 BAR (29..PSI) under normal cranking. I just had mine boattailed and dowelpinned.

I run the 964/993 2.0mm piston squirters in my build, as per Todd Knighton's recommendations.

If I ever have to do a full tear-down again, I'll be going down the 993 crank route too with bigger bore P&C's.

I just want to call it a day and get a 92-94 3.6 n/a motor and build the hell out of it. If someone were to give me 6Gs and a tired 3.6 motor I would trade them my stroked 3.3 with the 3.2 manifold and exhaust.
