series 900 engine shrouds still producing?

Is Damon still making and selling engine shrouds? I've tried email and phone but no reply and messages are full.

An alternative is to buy EB Racings parts through Rothsport

The Sheriden 993 tin for an early chassis has really got my interest

one of the big issues w/ a 993 in a 911 chassis is the engine tin which appears to be the main impediment to raising the rear of the engine as far as i'd like, currently I have to use a 28.5mm spacer on the rear bolts

anyone had contact w/ Sheridan lately?

I'm getting nothing

also confused, the phone # on the website shows up as in Ca on my phone not Hawaii as advertised

I looked at EB Racing too but they don't' have something specifically for a 993 motor in an earlier chassis

My issue is the droopy drawer caused by the big A** spacers needed on the rear mounts

These could be eliminated w/ different tin

This was never a problem w/ the custom exhaust that I've use d for the past 20+ years but after rebuilding the motor this summer the old muffler gave up the ghost and my fabricator was retired

the new exhaust position is unacceptable

The last time I talked with Roger, he was selling his car and moving to the Big Island of Hawaii. That was at least 18 months ago. I know he sold his car.

Today, I can't get to the web site.

It's not uncommon for people to move from one state to another and keep their mobile phone number. So Roger being in Hawaii with a California number is not a surprise.

We have five sets on order from Damon. Patience is the key.
When it finally arrives, it has the best color and fit of all the options I've seen.

Good to know

As i'm sure you have way more experience than I w/ this situation

Any idea if I'm on the right track? When I had the motor out this summer it sure looked as if the 993 surrounds is what is preventing the motor mounts to raise the rear of the engine

This is what I a trying to correct, longer muffler exit pipes are on order to move the pipes ~2" further out, to center in the existing tip cutout, but the droopy drawer look is just not acceptable, currently there is a 27mm spacer to push the rear of the motor down, that would be a good thing to eliminate

The old exhaust was just about perfect

The other alternative is a Ti GT3 muffler I have, but that means a new rear bumper and all the hassle associated w/ that

Bill,

What issue exactly are you trying to solve? The fit of the 3.6 into your car? The cosmetics of the tailpipes?

The 993 engine rear mounts have the ~1" spacers(see post above) that push the rear of the engine down by that distance,

For the last 20+ years it wasn't an issue because I had a great fabricator weld up an exhaust that raised the exhaust up far enough to not be a visual issue, the tips would still occasionally grind on extreme transitions but not enough to worry about.

This summer I rebuilt the engine and of course the old muffler blew out immediately.

I purchased a new Fabspeed RSR setup which I like very much but it hangs too low, the tips also need to be moved outboard by ~2" to fit the existing cutouts, but that's been handled.

If the 1" spacers can be eliminated or reduced to even .5" that would solve or at least alleviate the problem

It appears that the stock 993 tray which was modified a bit for use in the '76 chassis is the major impediment to elimination of the spacers.

I can modify the existing 993 tin, or purchase f/g designed for the purpose, In the interest of expedience and saving everyone some time I don't mind spending some $

Sheridan seems to have had what I need, Rebel seems to have the Sheridan pieces as well, but neither has responded to email or phone calls,

lastly it would be at least reassuring to me that I am on the right track w/ the f/g to raise the rear of the engine
