Weber question for 2. Liter 6

I am having a 2 liter 6 built. It will have 2.0 S p/c, head work and appropriate cams for a healthy street engine.
Trying to determine what needs to be done to make webers sufficient to maximize hp and torque. It was T spec engine so I know it will not be good without help.
Looking for some input based on experience.
Thanks

Your issues will hover around whether they are IDA or IDT bodies. Otherwise, jetting is pretty rudimentary.
If you have IDTs tuning is a challenge and often insurmountable.
I hope you have IDAs. There were also IDS carbs that came on a limited number of 2.0 S engines. They have their own, unique issues. The high RPM enrichment circuit is unpredictable.

Input

For what it’s worth, the carbs are whatever is on a 914-6. Currently packed away so can’t answer accurately. Car hasn’t t run in 100 years so not sure there is an answer there.
Back in the day, I had a six that Clark Anderson (Bruce’s brother) reworked my stock carbs ……and really gave it some muscle (relatively speaking).
I believe he changed venturis or something but so long ago I don’t recall.
Hope that helps….Henry?
Thanks all

My only question was IDT, IDA. or IDS?
If they were originally on a 914/6 they are IDT.
Tuning them for your engine spec is "challenge"
Maybe Paul Abbit can provide you the information you need.
Cheers

Henry
Well I suspect no good news. Carbs are IDT……
Specifically 40IDT P13C and C1
Sounds like no fun in store.
Thanks

I have those IDTs off of a '69 T on my 3.0 9.8-1 cr GT-2 cammed motor. Not a problem.

Use the guide posted above. The only issue that may arise is the idle air jet may need to be adjusted. Yes the transition ports are different, but that can be dealt with if your transition from idle to main gives you a flat spot. I drilled mine out, probably shouldn't have.

BTW, Paul Abbit, aka 1quickS, offers a service that will rebuild Webers to IDA spec.

ALSO, do yourself a favor and invest in an Air Fuel Meter. That is the ONLY way to correctly set up these carbs.
