3.6 track engine

I am building a 3.6 track motor with CR being 12.45 to 1.0. Was thinking I wanted no more than 12 to 1. I can remove 1.6cc from the dome and get it down to 12.0. I don't know a magic number for compression on these motors. The 3.6 is I think more susceptible to blow by due to the additional span of its cylinder heads. does a half point matter. Any good info greatly appreciated. Bob

Cylinder head stability is primary. Of course I would recommend Supertec Head studs no matter how much compression you choose.
I believe there is very little performance difference between those compression numbers.

This is where you will get schooled on static compression and dynamic compression from the board.
The last 993 3.6 liter I built was 12.5 : 1 CR (static,JE pistons) , GE100 cams , twin plug ,Carrillo rods and on the dyno 319 RWHP. Of course this was on race fuel. If this is for a track car why do you want to lower compression? Blow by? I didn't have any issues, logged around 30 track hours on the engine then sold it.
