A Porsche Icon passes
A great friend and the Porsche OG Outlaw just passed.
Gary Emory, the spirit behind the 356 Outlaw brand and a great Porsche legend will be remembered. Everyone knows about the 356 Outlaw but how many of you know that Gary and Neil (his dad) were the inspiration behind the Baja Bug. I was honored to build engine for a few of his legions and his creations will live forever. I loved him and will miss him. Rod will be a great ambassador to the outlaw brand. ![]()

He was an inspiration to me as a young Bug nut in 1973. My first custom car I built was a Baja Bug with a 1875cc Type 1 engine..Boy what a learning curve that was, but I followed his rules for rear tire sizing and it was unstoppable on the mud flats. RIP.

Yes, great guy, and great loss to his family/friends and our community. Was fortunate to meet him and hang out a little at the last Rensport Reunion in Daytona years ago.
RIP.
