new nuts bolts and washers
Anyone know where to get a hardware kit (nuts, bolts, washers) for a 911 engine rebuild. I dont remember where I got them last time but really dont want to use old hardware.
Thanks, Chris 89 Carrera 3.2 |

We get most stuff from Belmetric unless its specialty hardware then we usually have the original stuff replated

I use Bolt Depot by the hundreds works for me. Just a couple things they don’t carry, I get elsewhere.

Belmetric and McMaster-Carr are our go-to hardware sources
McMaster-Carr has higher quality and next day service, all be it at a higher priced source. https://www.mcmaster.com/ I recently encountered a shaft bearing leak in a 930 throttle body that was driving us nuts. IT took smoke to find it. It's a tiny 8mm roller bearing with a integral seal. I called my go-to bearing guy and he couldn't find in any of his books. My head mechanic did a quick internet search and found a source at McMaster-Carr. Not only did they a have a single seal bearing but they had the same bearing with seals on both ends. We ordered it at 3:00 and had three bearings the next day. I ordered three just because Murphy will bite you when you least expect it.

We stock individual assembly packages, mostly for in house use. Case assembly package, Cylinder head nut/washer package, chain housing package, timing cover package, valve cover package. We also have packages with all new studs for cylinder heads if needed.
We source from Porsche and Belmetric for most of it, and when hardware from Porsche does not come with correct finish, we strip and tumble the parts and get them plated with either Yellow Zinc or Yellow Cad depending on what the original finish is supposed to be. We also restore removed OE hardware to its correct original finish via tumbling and plating. Time consuming and not inexpensive, but its what we do. Cheers

We used to do yellow zinc in house but The People's Republic of California makes chemical processing a regulatory nightmare.

I'm glad you mentioned "higher quality", because not all hardware is created equal.

The prices are really quite low. For example, the nylok nuts I used were #90576A815. Medium-Strength Steel Nylon-Insert Locknut, Zinc Yellow-Chromate Plated, M8 x 1.25mm, 13mm Wide, 8mm High If you get the wrong metal or wrong hardness you could have issues.

We package them this way.
Many parts are restored original pieces, coupled with new hardware. We have found Belmetric great for quality, not just on our Porsche fasteners, but for stuff for the racecars as well as oddball stuff like Black Stainless. Have used Mcmaster plenty as well in the past.
