IMHO I would oops...

Sorry for the abbreviations but when you type with two fingers you need all the short cuts you can find.

"I promise to never type 911RS, P+C's, RPM or $6-$8k again."

From now on it's "Porsche 911 Rennsport, pistons and cylinders, revolutions per minute and $6,000 dollars to $8000 dollars."

Blue, It wasn't immediately obvious from your original post that you "needed" a rebuild. (60,000 documented miles) is not much. People sometimes take healthy motors and rebuild them to get more power out of them.

If you noticed I said that if I had a healthy 2.4S I would take it to the track to appreciate it because I feel that it's hard to appreciate a motor that thrives at 6,000 rpm on the street. Even my 72' when it had it's wimpy 2.4T motor was hard to appreciate on the street. That motor wasn't "fun" until you hit at least 4,000 rpm.

Anyway, I think the advice to inspect the bottom end might be a good one only because whatever caused your pre-mature valve wear might also have played a part in pre-mature bottom end wear. So complete inspection is not a bad idea.
