Assembly begins

Starting Friday evening with the rods, torque and undo the ARP rod bolts 3 times at 35lbs...

By Saturday afternoon the case is together with only a few moments of panic...

By Sunday afternoon the head studs are in and the flywheel is torqued down.

Very nice. You're further than me. I've only just completed the crank.

One thing though: my ARP guide says 45 lb/ft torque on the rod bolts. Did your guide say 35??

My ARP instructions for the rod bolts part 204-6005, Porsche 930 turbo. Clearly says 35lbs 3 times... (loosen tighten etc.)... if not using the stretch gauge method.

Mine are going into a 2.7 RS spec engine and are part # 204-6001 which probably explains the difference. Says, "Application Porsche 10mm)

The 87 930 has 9 mm rod bolts which should be torqued to 35 ft/lbs while using the ARP assembly lube. I did mine 5 times just to make sure. The torque and retorque is to eliminate any new (abnormal) tread to nut friction.

Hmmm.... a 2.7 has 10mm and a 930 has 9mm? Interesting
