Short block complete

Thanks to Christ Streit and Souk for leading the team through the short block assembly.

We were hoping to have the long block done but ran into a snag with the deck height. I guess I didn't realise that the copper cylinder base gaskets come in differing thicknesses. When I tore it down I noticed that there were two gaskets under each cylinder. I ordered two of the standard size. When we measured the deck height of cylinder #1 it was .65 mm. Which was a little too tight!

Oh well, order some more parts and start again next weekend.

Cheers,

Tristan

Thanks

The case was cleaned by my machine shop. I only cleaned the oil passages and the mating surfaces with Scotchbrite and brake/carb cleaner.
