Finished shortblock, checking 2.2 deck height

Finished the 2.2 shortblock after getting the correct STD/STD main bearings, see below. Now I'm checking the deck height per Wayne's book. EBS took off .012" (.30mm) on the heads to clean them up. I used a .50 shim and some solder that measured 1.51mm. I put the head on, torqued it, removed it and found no flattened solder. Tried it 3 times. Tried just the vernier calipers, but with the slight curve of the 2.2 piston, couldn't get a good reading although the edge of the piston does sit below the edge of the cylinder about a 1mm by the eye ball. looked at the piston, then looked at the head and it appears the dome on the head is quite deep compared to the piston. Is deck height not a problem on a stock 2.2??
