Wrist Pin Clips

Is it unwise to reuse piston wrist pin clips?? I lost two somehow, but have some from the old PC set. They seem fine and w/o weakness. If not wise, does anyone have a couple they could send me??

Bob,

I would not re-use. You should be able to find some new ones at Bap-Geon or one of the other specialty shops locally.

I re-used the good ones and ordered replacements on the bad from our host. They don't have them in a catalog but were able to source for me. There's not a whole lot of pressure on them to push out.

I have always reused the clips, as long as they still have sufficient tension to snap back into place they will work just fine.

Why would anyone re-use such an inexpensive, yet critical part?
Pro-builders would never do it.

Ask Tyson Schmidt about reusing wrist-pin clips...
