Engine Mount
Just browsing the Rebuild & Mod. book and I noticed that some pics have the front motor mount bar [pic 10-3 page 184]
installed with the flange up and some have it up the other way . I just measured mine and they are not symmetrical.--- I suppose It will all become clear when I try to put it in the car [thats a way down the track yet!] and my car is not here to have a look at whats in there now. But Murphy reckons that if it can--it will ! Any thoughts on that previous post of mine re the case thrubolt holes being countersunk?--Wayne? |

Unless you have repainted the crossmember, it will be really obvious which way it goes.

Good point Chris. The one in the book is an early one (from a '74, I think), although I got that mount just for the book, as the engine that was used with the book was originally from my 914-6.
Anyways, which flange are you specifically referring to? And what was the other post? -Wayne

Thanks Wayne, you answered my 'other post' about the countersunk thru bolt holes, today. -------Chris, the mount can still go flange up or flange down, but there is a chamfer in one side of the end bushes , so I guess it will become obvious on installation as you say.
Many thanks for your help. |
