3.6 rebuild

I've noticed that the Rebuild Book, 101 Projects, and the rebuild kits, etc. are all geared towards '89 and older...so what does that mean for me who's looking at "upgrading" to a 89 C4 which may need a top-end refresh?

the C4 looks like it has the famous cylinder head leak...also the leakdown on #2-3 is around 67-68 vs. 1,4-6 in the 75's (from 80 org.)

what may I be looking at?

Kevin

This 3.6 has a pretty good leak on cylinder #1.

More like I adopted it. The owner was going to "put it down" (part it out) but I offered to buy the whole thing. (Think of the scene from "Sea Biscuit" where they're about to shoot S.B. because of his broken leg.)

Chris,

What in the world wide web would cause a failure like that? The rod looks twisted even!

Too soon for me to tell yet. I'm working on another motor while I wait for a tool to finish tearing this motor down.

Chris,

I don't think you offered to buy it 'just' to fix it. Nah, it's more like 'Ahh, more mosquito embaitment for the yard, just what I was looking for' thing 8-)
