Last question on timing, did a search no luck
Well i was trying to finish the cam timing tonight but ran into a small snag. According to Wayne's book my brother's 911T uses a high lift cam sequence to time the cam (even though it is a CIS motor). I came to this conclusion due to the 2.6mm of overlap the cams are spec'd for.
According to Wayne's sequence i am to torque down the cam bolt to its 110ftlb value but that is a PITA MAN! What is the point of this? Would it be acceptable to torque it to like 60lftlbs or so and then do the timing? Only reason i ask is because i am having a hard time keeping the cam from moving as i am tightening the cam bolt and yes i do have the tool to hold the cam Thanks Jim |

The setting will change when you tighten the bolt/nut. Tighten it some (say 60 ft lbs) as you go along (moving the pin) and when you arrive at the setting you want, torque to spec and recheck it.

Hey i figured out a good way to use the P204 tool to tension the cams...i'm going to make a post about it for people in the future
