Identify these two parts
Part number 1.
Came off the engine somewhere, I just can't think where. Part number 2. These came with the rebuild kit. Where do they go?

I cant tell about item 1 but 2 are valve stem seals, They sit on top of the valve guides inside the springs

The first item is a vibration isolator. They are used to isolate items like fuel distributors and regulators that are mounted on the motor from engine vibration.

I do' know what it is... but we betttter get a pho-to of it! (Steve Martin, Saturday Night Live)...
Actually I think 350HP930 is correct, number 1 looks like one of the fuel distributor mounts. Although it may also be one of the mounts from an airpump if your car had one.

That was my guess on number 1. Just don't know where it goes. The two likely places I found doesn't seem to fit it appropriately. As for number two, I wonder it the guy that did my heads put them in. Are they necessary on SC's or are they for different years?

Machine shops usually put them in from their own stock.

I had my heads done at competition engineering. Walt installed seals out of his stock, and I sent him the seals out of my gasket kit. Therefore no double charge for the seals.

Number 1 does look like the vibration isolater for the air pump. Get rid of the air pump and you won't need the isolater. Did they have air pumps on the 81 SC's. I don't think so. Hmmm

the rubber piece is used in two places on later SCs to support the front of the airbox. one to a metal bracket that attaches to the throttle bellcrank plate, and one at the passenger side corner. the metal piece though, doesn't look familiar. yes, the stem seals are necessary.
