Question Compression drop on two cylinders

I have two cylinders that have quite a bit less compression than the other four. What kind of a rebuild will this take to bring the compression up on the engine. I don't mind doing a complete rebuild but I would like to get away with less.

It depends on alot of things. You may be able to just do a valve job on the affected cylinders. If the engine has alot of miles or wear you may need to do a comblete overhaul. It could be anywhere between these two extrems. You'll need to give a lot more information to get better advice. I recommend you get Bruce Andersons 911 performance handbook and read the chapter on engine rebuilding to decide what you need to do and to find out what you can do yourself.

I had an 86 Carrera that had a burned exhaust valve and the previous owner just had that one cylinder head rebuilt. It worked fine but it only had 80,000 miles on it.
