I just dissassembled the engine in my car this afternoon and the good new is that someone rebuilt my 2.2T with 90mm RS P&Cs! The bad new is that a few of the cooling fins are broken off.
I've attached a pretty crappy picture but it shows that a piece of cooling fin has broken off on the bottom side of the cylinder. Two of my cylinders are like this - how bad is it? Can they be reused as is? I'm thinking of selling them and don't want to screw anyone over on useability of the set. Regards, Andrew M ![]()

I'm looking for same answer, but also with respect to heads. Sounds like they can be repaired. Maybe if it makes sense cost-wise, you could find a junk cylinder (or head if it's for heads) to break the needed fin from. I was going to look into doing that for my situation.
broken head fins?

I had a broken fin on one cylinder, and was told that it wasn't a big deal, but it wasn't that big of a chunk either.

I had a broken fin on one of my heads on account of not shipping them correctly to CE. I was assured that it was ok. Seems to be so after 6000 miles.
