What's the difference between a Euro SC?

Folks,

I was looking at the PCA rule book and saw that there is a Euro SC 81-83 which has 204 hp. What is the difference between this engine and the US SC?

Thanks
Tristan

Late euro has 9.8:1 compression and the same ports and intake manifolds as the early (78-79) US model (correct me if I'm wrong!). Same cams, not sure on the cam timing. Early US cars are 8.5:1, late US are 9.3:1 with the smaller ports and intake manifolds. These are all the internal differencs that I know about. There are a couple of club racers in my area that run as Euro SCs, at least one of them started out as a US car.

I believe there are also differences in the Euro CIS fuel distributor.

they also don't have a cat, I think they have the same heat exchangers and muffler with a "euro premuffler" in place of the US cars' cat.

Also, I don't think any Euro SCs have the lambda control like the 80-83 US SCs. This shouldn't really affect the max power though.

A minor correction the early 3 liters from the '76 Carrera 3.0 to the '79 SC all used the big port(39/35) heads but all the later 3 liters thru '83(except RS & RSR) used the small port heads(34/35)
