New to me 2.2 Question
I have just bought a 2.2 engine and I would like to hear you thoughts on what to do.
Here is part of what I know about the engine. "Sorry I don't have a lot of history on the actual mileage on the motor, nor do I have current compression. About 7,000 miles ago it had 100-120 according to old records, but it seemed to run better than that. I bought the car 3 years ago from a friend who took good care of the car. The speedometer was replaced at 57K and the new one shows 37K. His garage did the compression test and also indicated that it may need valve seals/guides? I knew eventually that I would need to at least do top end work but went with a 2.7 instead. She smokes a little when cold, however other Porsche mechanics told me to just run it. Has some minor oil leaks but not a gusher" I was thinking I would replace what seals I could and get the engine installed and running to better evaluate it. I don't have the funds to do a total rebuild but can do something if needed. Thanks for dealing the Nub questions

I would definately get a pre-purchase inspection done on the car before you consider buying it.
His descriptions are vague at best - based on what you describe, this could be anything from a few hundred dollars to fix all the way up to "money pit" AFJuvat
