Tech III and 3.2 manifold?

Quote:
84-89 3.2 CARRERA Conversion Kit
This kit utilizes the factory 3.2 intake manifold and fuel system used on the 84-89 Carrera. The kit includes: Electromotive TEC-3r engine management system, crank trigger adapter, coils, required sensors, connectors.
Anyone done this conversion? Any suggestions you can think of?

What west coast shop would you suggest do the work?

Richard Clewett says a day and 1/2 to do the install and another day on the dyno for my twin plug conversion.

We have used the 3.2 manifold for a few turbo engines within the past year or so.. We are a Haltech distibutor and have a preference for that EMS, but the Tec 3 is a very capable engine management system..

what I dont see in the quote from Clewetts add is a wiring harness... The Tec 3 comes with an unfinished harness... have to add few hours to complete the harness

Rich sells the kit why not have him install it?

I did it on my car, and bought all of my stuff from Clewett. And yes, he sells a wiring harness that is terminated. Makes it SUPER EASY.

Link to pics is in my signature.

Thanks guys. What kind of performance gains have you had over the CIS turbos?

The week before I took my engine out, it dynoed at 306HP at the rear wheels, with 301 ft/lbs of torque.

I did the conversion, and during the dyno tuning we saw 431RWHP and 407 ft/lbs of torque. Tuner said I have a very conservative tune, and we could probably get another 40HP to the rear wheels in his opinion. 2 other tuners have reviewed my program and said the same thing...

Thanks Brian, what a change hu?

I wonder how much the naturally aspirated cars leave for HP/torque on the table?

Anyone else have info they care to add?

If you watch the videos on my signature. The difference is very easy to see. If you watc the video from VIR from last year, and the one from 11/9 of this year titled "Lap on new engine" it is pretty obvious that there is a huge speed difference.
