2.7 Main Bearings

Does anyone know where I could find a set of 2nd over (.5mm over) main bearings for a 2.7. I have a case that has been fitted with case savers, shuffle pins and a carrera oil pump but unfortunately it was already align-bored .5mm. The crankshaft is standard so I need (STD I.D. / .5mm O.D.) on the main bearings. Any help is appreciated.

the dealer sells 1st over sets for a reasonable amount. don't know about 2nd over. they don't come as a set, you have to order each bearing.

To my knowledge there are no .5mm align bore bearings. It sounds like you will need to resize the case. ( pull all the case studs and surface the case halves enough to allow for align bore to standard or most likely 1st oversize.
Good luck

If you call $800 for bearings reasonable. That's what my quote was from Sunset Porsche. That was for the .25mm over.

You can now only buy these as pairs of shells not as an entire set. I got mine after a LOT of searching because the part numbers have changed. I ended up paying a little over $400.

Wayne's right, look for another case.
