Webcam 158 grind

What kind of specs does this cam have? Is it viable in a carb street motor w/ 9.8:1 cr? Looks like it may be a bit on the wilder side? Does this cam lose all the torque in favor of high-rev breathability?

Webcam's web site lists a 158r but not a 158.
I'm probably having another Senior Moment but for some reason that # seems familiar - like they were in my '86 Carrera before I went to 964 cams. I think "158" was stamped on the end of the cams.

update: from JD/camgrinder I found out that a 158 is a "hot" SC/CIS cam and 158R is a carb cam.

From *her*, I found out that a 158R is their 2.7S cam with valve lift of .450int and .400exh, for duration .232int and .222exh, between 3.0-3.3mm with .10mm lash

Does that make sense?

Cut me some slack, I'm senile remember? I forgot Camgrinder was Webcam, not Elgin. When I called Webcam a few years ago I spoke to a woman.

I think the cam timing setting value was the same for the 158 as the stock Carrera cams.

LOL, no no, Chris, you got it all right. (It didn't come through in the text, but I was actually stressing the fact that it WAS a "her".... caught me by surprise b/c it matched your statement )

So no matter how long ago that was, it's still a "her" (which is a nice thing to hear, kinda like those girls on 5th Gear/Mythbusters )

Car savvy girls are neat.
I was visiting a friend at his auto repair shop this summer. He employed a girl (college student I think) behind the front desk. While I'm waiting for my friend, a customer tells the girl that his BMW trunk lock isn't working right, unlocks after he locks it or something like that. I was so surprised when she started telling him that lock used an electric/pneumatic latch actuator made by such and such and it was also used by Mercedes. I think she even told him what the problem was.
I said to her "I'm in love! Can you say pneumatic actuator again?"

sure, Im using the 158r in a 2.2L

Its either 9.8 or 9.5:1 cr (Id have too look at my notes)
Twin plugged
930 oil pump
Ports opened to S+ specs
Ti retainers and keepers
Aase springs
TWM throttle bodies
tall PMO manifolds
EFI
carrera tensioners etc.

When I first built the engine I dynoed the car, and with the cam timing I used the torque power fell off at about 6500 rpm. Ive recently done a top end rebuild on the engine and timed the cams so power falls off at about 7000 rpm.

Im at work right now, but I have some dyno sheets somewhere

This engine is alot of fun in a car that weighs less than 2000#
