I am mounting a Porsche G50 transmission, made in 93. to a new vette engine with an adapter plate. Can the transmission handle being run up side down, is it just a simple fluid level change or is it more complicated? I am doing this for space savings. And "yes" i know that the axles will turn in a different direction, that is what i am looking for becase i am building a mid engine car.

It must work okay, because the Ultima GTR uses a G50 behind a Chev motor in a mid-engine configuration. I have seen them use an external pump with spray bars (almost dry sump lube), but that may be just to help the weak G50 live with 300+ lb-ft torque.
Check with PowerhausII, Renegade Hybrids, Patrick Motorsport, and any Ultima or GT40 forums (just do a search on Yahoo or Google) E |
