Grrr, rocker arm rebush clearance question
I'm inspecting some rebushed & reground rocker arms and the shaft to bushing fit is the same as ones with 100K+ miles. It's not really loose, just not as snug as a new rocker arm. How critical is the fit? I don't have a way to (personally) measure the bushing's I.D. so I can't give you actual numbers.
I'm I pissed for no reason? BTW: These rockers were not done by C.E. -Chris

You can buy an inexpensive telescoping gauge to measure the I.D. of the bushing. Then measure your rocker shaft O.D. and get the clearance.

Yeah, I need to get some snap gages. My bore gage doesn't go that small.

What is the deal with snap guages? Take a measurement and then use a micrometer to get number??

Once you are able to measure the bore & know the clearance between rocker & shaft, do you have a spec to know whether you're within tolerance?

Chris,
Please don't tell me those rocker arms came from RAS. I had mine done there after your earlier comments. Jack |

Before you jump to conclusions, I suggest you make some measurements of the actual bushings and see if they are in spec...
