Interesting Wear on Pistons, Wrist Pin Interface?

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if what I am seeing is abnormal or not, I just finished cleaning my pistons which will be going out for thermal barrier coating. I noticed it only after thorough cleaning but it appears that all my pistons are showing wear marks on opposite sides where the wrist pins go in. I'll try to post a picture tomorrow but I would think that the wear from the interface with the wrist pins would be uniform on the piston??? Has anyone seen this and is there any need to worry, these are Mahle 3.2L Euro pistons. The wrist pins themselves look perfectly normal and fit nicely in all pistons, no slop or trouble turning freely. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Alex
