The 7R has room but you probbly want to "have it done" cause w.o. a proper jig you can end up saving lots of $$ but looking like a porkypine with none of them lined up and they have to be right on.

to follow, there seem to be only 1mm of material on the cylinder side when the case savers are installed, is it enough?

It's tight, but in VW applications they sometimes have even less material around the stud boss or even have the case saver break into the spigot opening. You'll be better off with the case savers with less material between the case saver and the case spigot opening than you would be running the stud directly in the case. You might want to look into cryogenically treating your case- that will help significantly in preventing the studs from being pulled out.

I have no idea what your shop will be using....the proper ones are threaded on the out side and inside......there are some that will work but not as good-

corect.......but your machine shop may want to supply these.....kind of like taking food to a resturant and having it cooked if you take them the stuff.......just a thought

some shops get a little up tight if you bring in parts to install....they loose thir mark up.....when I have to do that (take them the parts I just tell them to chage a little more and be happy about it. Just a comunication thing
